Eight New 2018 Nissan Models Get Standard Automatic Emergency Braking
Posted on June 30, 2017
In an effort to improve even further the safety of its new vehicles, Nissan recently announced that Automatic Emergency Braking will now be standard equipment on 8 new 2018 Nissan models. That doubles the amount of Nissan vehicles that offered AEB in 2017.
A system designed to prevent accidents
AEB is designed to prevent accidents by monitoring what is happening in front of your Nissan vehicle. If another vehicle is detected and you are approaching to quickly, or a vehicle in front suddenly brakes, Automatic Emergency Braking will detect it and warn you.
If you should fail to stop or slow down, AEB can automatically apply the brakes for you in order to prevent a collision.
Part of Nissan’s Safety Shield suite of active safety technologies, Automatic Emergency Braking will be standard on the 2018 model-year Rogue, Altima, Murano, LEAF, Pathfinder, Armada, Maxima and Sentra (except manual transmission-equipped and all NISMO versions).
Other advanced safety systems found on new Nissan vehicles include Intelligent Around View Monitor (I-AVM), Intelligent Distance Control (I-DC), Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention (I-BSI), Intelligent Lane Intervention (I-LI) and Intelligent Driver Alertness (I-DA).
